Glycolic Tattoo Removal is a non-laser method used to safely lift unwanted pigment or ink from eyebrows, eyeliner, lips, and small body tattoos. It should only be performed by qualified Cosmetic Tattoo professionals with Tattoo Removal and Infection Control certification. Daisy Skin uses an Australian-made advanced glycolic solution by Think Aesthetics, which is designed to effectively lift all pigment colours. Please note that all skin treatments carry some level of risk. Glycolic is a solution that is flushed through the skin causing the ink to break down and lift to the skins surface. It's effective at lightening all colours of pigment/ink. Saline works in a similar way, however it's proven to not be as effective. Laser targets the ink particles with high-intensity light, causing them to shatter and be absorbed by the body’s immune system. It's highly effective at removing dark inks, however is known to be painful and less effective on lighter ink colours.

The number of treatments varies for each person. Generally the number of sessions is determined by five factors: 1) Age of the tattoo 2) How deep the ink was placed in the skin 3) The types of pigment used 4) The individuals immune system 5) How closely PreCare and AfterCare is followed During the consultation, an estimate may be given (based previous clients' experiences), however no-one can advise the exact number of treatments required to successfully lighten the tattoo to the point you are satisfied, or that it's light enough to be covered up with another tattoo. Our expert technician will touch base with you during the healing time, and may ask for photos or to come into the studio to see the progress.

Immediately following the Tattoo Removal procedure you may typically continue light duties for the remainder of the day. Do not expose the treated area to heat, steam, chlorinated water, direct sun or do any activities that cause you to sweat. The area may be sensitive for around 5 days. Everyone’s healing will slightly differ, due to: Age, skin condition, immune system, lifestyle habits, the age of the tattoo, how deep the ink was placed, the ink colours used, and how diligently aftercare is followed. Please be patient while your skin is healing. The general Healing Timeline is: Day 0: The area may feel sensitive and appear darker as the ink rises to the surface and is temporarily suspended in the epidermis (top layer of skin). Day 1-3: The area may feel tender, continue to darken, shrink slightly, and become itchy. A scab will begin to form. Day 4-10: The area may begin to flake or peel, lighten in colour, and appear patchy. Week 4-8: The skin’s healing cycle is complete. From Week 8: If the skin has healed as expected, another treatment may be considered. If fresh pink skin is still visible, we wait an additional 4 weeks before reassessing. Important Healing Notes The scab must exfoliate naturally. Some clients experience this around Day 7-10, while for others, it may take up to Day 21—this depends on the individual’s immune response. If the scab comes off too early, healing may take longer, the skin may appear pink/red, and scarring can occur. Darker skin tones may “ghost” where the skin loses natural pigment. Yes. To prioritise your safety, all clients undergoing Tattoo Removal are required to attend an in-person Consultation + Patch Test before their first treatment. During this appointment we will: Assess your skin and tattoo Review your completed online questionnaire and suitability for treatment Answer any personalised questions Perform a comprehensive patch test using the products involved in your Tattoo Removal treatment The patch test is usually performed in a discreet area behind the ear, on the neck, or directly on the intended treatment area. Following the patch test, we ask that you wait 7 days before proceeding with your first Tattoo Removal treatment. This allows sufficient time to monitor for any delayed skin irritation or allergic response. Please note that while a patch test significantly reduces the risk of an unexpected reaction, it cannot guarantee that a future sensitivity or allergy will never develop. Allergic reactions remain uncommon but are an inherent risk of any cosmetic procedure involving topical products or pigments. 48-Hour Emergency Tattoo Removal Because Emergency Tattoo Removal is a time-sensitive procedure, there is insufficient time to perform a patch test and observe the recommended 7-day waiting period. If you choose to proceed with Emergency Tattoo Removal, you acknowledge that treatment will be performed without the benefit of prior patch testing, and the associated risks will be discussed with you before treatment. As with all procedures, it remains your responsibility to inform Daisy Skin of any changes to your health, medications, allergies, or skin history before your appointment, and to ensure you are a suitable candidate for treatment.

Australian Red Cross states that you have to wait seven (7) days to donate blood after having a tattoo (or removal) by a licensed tattoo professional in Australia. If the procedure is done overseas or by an unlicensed tattooist, then the wait time is four (4) months. Treatment plans are always customised to the individuals skin, lifestyle and budget. To optimise the results, the recommended time in between Removal treatments can vary between 8 - 12 weeks. Ideally, the skin should settle for 2 - 3 skin cycles before a cover-up tattoo is considered.

The use of Numbing Creams (Topical Anaesthetics) is necessary for the clients comfort. It is not recommended to undergo Tattoo Removal without the use of numbing aids. Self-Numbing The client is required to self-numb the area 30-45 minutes prior to the appointment (with the exception of eyeliner tattoo removal - the numbing will be applied in-clinic). Apply 2-3mm thick numbing cream to the area and cover with small pieces of cling wrap (cut them to size). Arrive to the appointment with numbing & plastic still in place. Which Numbing Cream to buy? We recommend purchasing numbing cream from a Compounding Pharmacy because of its 9-10% strength. Over-the-counter 5% strength Pre-Treatment Numbing (brand names: Emla, Numit) may be sufficient. It is your choice. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll need to order two (2) numbing agents — one to self-apply before your appointment, and one to be used during treatment. Aftercare varies depending on the area being treated. Specific care instructions and aftercare products will be provided on the day of your treatment. General Healing Instructions: Day 0-1 ✔ Morning & evening: Apply a tiny amount of balm to the treated area. ✔ Sleep on fresh linen/pillowcases. ✔ If treating body tattoos, secure clean gauze around the area while sleeping. From Day 2 (Until Fully Healed) ✔ Morning & night: Gently wash the area and apply balm. Until Fully Healed, AVOID: ❌ Makeup, sunscreen, or moisturiser on the treated area. ❌ Sweating, swimming, or long showers. ❌ Sun exposure or ultraviolet light/radiation. ❌ Pulling, picking, or scratching. ❌ Skincare ingredients like retinol, retinoids, tretinoin, lactic acid, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid. Once the scab has naturally exfoliated, you may use a brow pencil as a temporary measure for definition. ⚠ Do not touch the treated area with unclean hands! This can introduce bacteria and lead to infection.
