Skin Needling is a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment performed only by accredited Skin Therapists who hold advanced training and Infection Control certification. Please note that all skin treatments carry some level of risk. It is the responsibility of each individual, prior to booking, to ensure they are a suitable candidate by: • Reviewing the ‘Good Candidate’ checklist • Completing the consultation form honestly and accurately • Following all PreCare and Aftercare instructions • Opting for a Patch Test appointment if they have sensitive or reactive skin Strict hygiene is adhered to for all treatments at Daisy Skin, including the use and proper disposal of single-use, EO-gas sterilised needle cartridges.

With most Skin Needling treatments we recommend a minimum of three treatments (dependant on the severity of the skin concern). For example, a minor scar on a young client may only need three sessions, whereas deep acne scarring may require nine. Your skin therapist can estimate the number of treatments required to achieve your desired outcome at your consultation.

The frequency of treatments is dependant on your age, the condition of your skin and the skin concern being treated. ​​ Your skin therapist will advise on the frequency of treatments at your consultation. ​

Depending on the skin concern being treated, your skin will have a different inflammatory response immediately following the appointment. It may look and feel like a sunburn and can last 24-48 hours. ​ It is important that you do NOT try to cool down the skin. The warmth you feel is the skin’s natural inflammatory response and critical to the body producing a variety of Growth Factors that help create collagen & elastin. ​ Although your skin may have a pinkish hue immediately following treatment it should not restrict you from returning to light duties. An afternoon or weekend appointment is recommended if you are concerned about returning to normal activities.

Pain is always subjective (different for everyone), however depending on the skin concern being treated there may be low to moderate discomfort. The treatment is not designed to hurt or be painful though. ​ It is our Skin Therapists priority to ensure you are comfortable throughout the treatment and to offer you a rewarding outcome.

Numbing creams (or Topical Anaesthetics) are generally not recommended before or throughout Skin Needling. However, a numbing agent is available for the following: • Treatments for stretchmarks, broken capillaries and scarring • Clients who have a low pain tolerance ​ The reason for limiting the use of Topical Anaesthetics is that they contain Lidocaine and/or Epinephrine which are proven to constrict blood vessels. It is important for the therapist to be able to gauge the depth of treatment based on the skins natural inflammatory response involving the network of blood vessels.

A Comprehensive Patch Test ($50) is available and uses all instruments and products involved in your treatment — including (but not limited to) nitrile gloves, cleansers, topical anaesthetic creams, sterile needle cartridge, gliding agents, wipes, and aftercare products. The test is typically performed in a discreet area behind the ear, as this skin closely resembles the sensitivity of the face. Alternatively, a site-specific patch test can be performed directly on the intended treatment area for the most accurate response. If no irritation or allergic response occurs after 7 days, you may proceed with your full Skin Needling appointment. However, please note that a patch test does not guarantee immunity from future allergic reactions, as sensitivities can develop months or even years after exposure. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they are in optimal health and that they are a suitable candidate for treatment. Please refer to the “Am I a Good Candidate?” question in this FAQ section for detailed guidance. Clients must also inform Daisy Skin of any changes to their health, medications, or skin history before each treatment. Allergic reactions are very rare, but by proceeding with treatment you acknowledge and accept this inherent risk. Please discuss any known sensitivities or allergies during your consultation so we can tailor the best approach for your skin.

Everyone heals slightly differently depending on age, skin condition, immune system, lifestyle and how well aftercare is followed. Please be patient — this is when your collagen is building. Day 0–1: Skin will feel warm, tight and look pink (similar to mild sunburn). Only apply the serum provided. Day 1: Begin using a gentle, non-fragranced cleanser, non-fragranced moisturiser and broad-spectrum sunscreen. It is okay to wear makeup from this day forward. Day 2–4: Redness should begin to settle. Skin may feel dry or start to flake — do not pick or scratch at any flaking skin. Increase moisturiser application. Day 4–7: Flaking typically resolves. Skin looks fresher but is still healing beneath the surface. Week 2: Skin barrier is recovering — collagen production is just beginning. You may slowly reintroduce mild over-the-counter ‘actives’ back into your skincare routine. Weeks 3–5: Collagen and elastin continue to rebuild. You may now fully resume your regular skincare routine, including Vitamin A. Treatments can be safely repeated every 6–8 weeks for best results.

Keloid Scarring --- Not suitable if you have a history of raised scarring ​ Diabetes --- Must be under control by diet or medication ​ Cancer --- Not recommend whilst undergoing treatment, seek your Doctors approval ​ Blood thinning medication --- Seek your Doctors approval ​ Irritated or inflamed skin --- Reschedule appointment ​ Cold Sores --- Reschedule appointment if Active cold sores. If you have a history of cold sores consult with your local Pharmacy for a preventative anti-viral treatment. ​ Pigmentation - Clients who experience Post-Inflammatory HyperPigmentation (PIHP) and those who naturally have darker skin tones will need to incorporate a Tyrosinase Inhibitor (clinical formulation of topical Vitamin C) into their skincare routine 2 weeks leading up to treatment (and ongoingly) to prevent further hyperpigmentation. Very sensitive skin / Undiagnosed allergies --- Book in for a Comprehensive Patch Test Injectables (ie: Botox / Filler)   --- Wait 2 weeks before/after treatment

• 7 days prior --- Last chance to dye hair (or wait 7 days after treatment) • 2 days prior --- Stop using all skincare products that accelerate skin cell turnover (includes Retinol, Retinoids, Retinal, Tretinoin, Bakuchiol etc) • 2 days prior --- Do not take or apply anti-inflammatories 24 hours before treatment (thins the blood and compromises efficacy of treatment). Common names are: Aspirin, Disprin, Nurofen, Ibuprofen, Voltaren, Diclofenac etc. • 2 days prior --- Do not consume alcohol (thins the blood and compromises efficacy of treatment) • 24 hours prior --- Avoid overly salty foods • 24 hours prior --- Avoid any herbs/spices that thin the blood (turmeric, ginger, garlic, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, ginkgo biloba etc) • Day prior --- Wash hair DAY OF TREATMENT • Do not smoke/vape or take illicit substances the day of treatment • Be well hydrated (drink plenty of water) • Eat a light meal beforehand • Ensure you plan ahead to arrive on time and relaxed • Empty your bladder beforehand • Bring a clean scarf and hat with you to physically protect your treatment area afterwards

Your skin will be in healing and regeneration mode after treatment, so correct aftercare is essential for best results and to avoid complications. On the day of treatment (Day 0): • 💧 Keep well hydrated • 🚫 No makeup for the rest of the day • 🧴 Only use the Aftercare product provided • ☀️ Avoid sun exposure — bring a hat to your appointment • 🏃‍♀️ No strenuous exercise • 🚫 Do not cool the skin or take anti-inflammatories while it’s still warm or pink • 🧼 Wash all makeup brushes/sponges • 🛏️ Sleep on a fresh pillowslip From the next day onward (Day 1+): • 🧴 Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen daily (even if cloudy or rainy) • 🌿 Resume normal skincare regime after 5–7 days — ask Erin if unsure • 💇‍♀️ Safe to dye hair after Day 7
