How many sessions will I need?

The number of treatments varies for each person and the type of procedure being done. For example, Skin Tightening treatments will require more treatments than Resurfacing treatments.

During the consultation, an estimate may be given based on your skin's condition and previous client experiences. However, no one can advise the exact number of treatments required, as each person responds differently.

Question 2

How soon will I see results?

Accepted Answer

There are immediate and long-term results from the Plasma Lift treatment, depending on the type of treatment chosen and factors such as the client's skin, age, elasticity, collagen levels, fibroblast cells, and the depth of wrinkle lines.

Depending on whether you have a Removal, Resurface, or Skin Tightening procedure, results can be seen within 7 days. As the skin heals internally, further results can be observed after 8-12 weeks, as the fibroblast cells stimulate collagen and elastin production which result in plumper looking skin.

Is it safe? What are the risks?

Plasma Lift (Plasma Fibroblast) is a non-surgical treatment performed only by accredited Skin Therapists at Daisy Skin who hold advanced training and Infection Control certification. The procedure is carried out in licensed premises for skin penetration.

The Plasma Pen device used at Daisy Skin is FDA and TGA approved.

Please note that all skin treatments carry some level of risk.

It is the responsibility of each individual, prior to booking, to ensure they are a suitable candidate by:
Reviewing the ‘Good Candidate’ checklist
Completing the consultation form honestly and accurately
Following all PreCare and Aftercare instructions
Opting for a Patch Test appointment if they have sensitive or reactive skin

Strict hygiene is adhered to for all treatments at Daisy Skin, including the use and proper disposal of all required consumables in accordance with infection control standards.

If PreCare or Aftercare protocols are not followed correctly, there may be risks involved — including but not limited to: infection, delayed healing, excessive inflammation, hyperpigmentation or the potential for scarring.

Whilst Daisy Skin will prepare and care for you with the highest standards, half of the treatment’s success relies on the client’s responsibility to follow all instructions before and after treatment.

Question 4

Is there downtime after treatment?

Accepted Answer

Generally, the healing time is 5-10 days, depending on the location of treatment. Healing time also varies according to the individuals health and lifestyle.

Light duties may be resumed for the remainder of the day; however, it is important to follow the Aftercare protocol closely to optimise results. Exact AfterCare instructions can be viewed in this FAQ section.

​If you are self-conscious about your skin during the healing time, a face mask may be worn (and refreshed every 2 hours). Otherwise, we encourage airflow until the treatment area is fully healed.

Question 5

I have very sensitive skin. Is a patch test available?

Accepted Answer

Patch Tests are recommended for clients who have a history of skin inflammation or concerned about a possible inflammatory reaction to the Plasma Lift procedure.

The Patch Test is a comprehensive test using ALL instruments and agents used throughout the treatment (including, but not limited to: nitrile gloves, alcohol wipe, medical marker, topical numbing creams, plasma device probe, wipes, aftercare etc).

The test itself can be performed on the intended treatment area or behind the ear. 
If no allergic reaction is present after 7 days then an appointment for Plasma Lift can be secured.

Self-Numbing -vs- In-Clinic Numbing

The use of Numbing Creams (Topical Anaesthetics) is necessary for the clients comfort. 
At Daisy Skin we do not perform any Plasma Lift treatment without the area being pre-numbed.

Self-numbing:
For most treatments not located near the eyes, you will need to apply your numbing cream 30–45 minutes before your appointment.
Apply 2-3mm thick numbing cream to the area and cover with small pieces of cling wrap (cut them to size). Arrive to the appointment with numbing & plastic still in place.

In-clinic numbing ($25 additional fee):

Where do I order my numbing cream?

Which numbing cream should I buy?
We recommend purchasing numbing cream from a Compounding Pharmacy, as these formulations are typically 9–10% strength and generally provide more effective numbing.
Purchase instructions are listed below, depending on your location (Perth / Geraldton).

Over-the-counter option (5%)
Lower-strength numbing creams (approximately 5%) are available over the counter from most pharmacies.
Common brand names include Emla and Numit.
These may be sufficient for some clients, but not all. The choice is yours.

Before your appointment
Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll need to purchase one numbing agent to self-apply before your appointment (sometimes referred to as "pre-numb").
Before purchasing, please check with us to confirm the required quantity, as this can vary depending on the treatment area (approximately 1ml to 10ml).

Our trusted supplier is Your Discount Chemist, a compounding pharmacy based in NSW that specialises in safe formulations for cosmetic treatments.
Your numbing cream will be express shipped via Australia Post. Allow 7-10 working days.

You can purchase in-person from Pharmacy 194, Durlacher Street, Geraldton.  They supply the numbing cream that is required for treatment to be comfortable:

1.5 mL Pre-Numb Cream - $9

No prescription is required, however clients must purchase their own numbing cream.

Please bring your numbing cream with you to your appointment, as this will be re-applied in-clinic.

Following these PreCare steps can help ensure a safe, smooth treatment and minimise the risk of complications such as bleeding, bruising, delayed healing, scarring, or hyper-pigmentation.

🗓 4 Weeks Prior to Treatment
🚫 No cosmetic procedures or treatments on the area to be treated
🌞 No tanning or sunburns to the area

🗓 2 Weeks Prior
🌿 If prone to hyper-pigmentation:  Start applying a Tyrosinase Inhibitor serum (such as a clinically formulated Vitamin C 20%) each morning, underneath broad-spectrum sunscreen

🧴 7 Days Leading Up to Your Appointment
💧Keep the treatment area well moisturised
⚠️ Stop taking blood-thinning supplement Ginkgo Biloba
🧴 Stop applying skincare products that accelerate cell turnover, eg: Retinol, Retinoids, Retinal, Tretinoin, Bakuchiol
🧪 Stop applying AHA's & BHA's (skincare exfoliants), eg: Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Citric Acid, Mandelic Acid)

💁‍♀️ Clinic Courtesy
Strong scents and odours can trigger headaches for staff. Please be mindful of your oral and personal hygiene, and avoid wearing perfume/cologne to your appointment.

📝 Cold Sores / Fever Blisters
If you’ve ever had a cold sore or fever blister, the treatment may reactivate the Herpes Simplex Virus.  📩 Please contact us beforehand for preventative instructions (e.g. obtaining antiviral medication from your GP).

✔️ Keep treated area/s clean and dry
✔️ Sleep on a fresh pillowslip and/or sheets
✔️ Spray Colloidal Silver 3 times a day (+ when itchy) until fully healed
✔️ For Eyes: Try to sleep elevated for the first night, ice compress 10mins every hour.
✔️ Consider taking anti-histamines for 2-3 days following treatment
✔️ From Day 3: Apply Fragrance-Free MOISTURISER morning & night
✔️ Cover up! Wear a wide-brim hat and absolutely NO direct sun exposure! Unprotected sun exposure can cause hyper-pigmentation.

AVOID
❌  Picking / pulling / scratching
	WHY? It can cause scarring and/or fever blisters
❌  Long showers / steam / sauna / pools / spas / sweat / sun 
	WHY? Moisture can cause scarring if dots are not dry enough the first few days
❌  Cleansers, soaps, makeup on the area
	WHY? Can cause irritation, prolonged healing and/or infection
❌  Touching with unclean hands 
	WHY? Can lead to infection, and/or fever blisters

TYPICAL HEALING PROCESS:
Day 0:         Some redness, swelling, heat (feels like a sunburn).
Day 1-2:      Some swelling & tenderness. Redness begins to subside. Eyes will have more swelling that other areas.
Day 3-4:     Site will darken, may become itchy and feel tight. Swelling decreased. Carbon Crust dots dry out and begin to come off in some areas.
Day 4-10:   Site will fall off naturally. Continue gentle skincare options.

AFTERCARE PRODUCTS
-What is supplied: Colloidal Silver is supplied to help care for your skin during its first week. It has natural antiseptic and antibacterial properties to help keep the area clean, reduce the risk of infection and support optimal healing.
-What you will need: Fragrance-free Moisturiser by Day 3 of healing. Pharmacy brands can be recommended at your consultation or a clinical formulation can be purchased for $26.

Itchy / Tingly / Stingy by day 2-3?
A fever blister or coldsore may be developing. Seek a prescription antiviral treatment ASAP from your local Chemist or local/online GP.

Skin Healing
-The carbon crusts will naturally fall off 3-10 days after treatment, depending on location. Dots closest to the mouth will fall off first, and areas such as the neck can be last. 
-If clear/white weeping occurs this is normal as it's lymphatic fluid and part of wound healing. If yellow/green weeping occurs seek medication attention as this could indicate infection.

Once the carbon crust dots fall off:
-The freshly treated areas may have a pink 'glow' and can remain for several weeks (this represents all new fresh skin). It's important that the skin is protected with a wide-brim hat and sunscreen.
-It's okay to wear makeup on the area. 
-If you are prone to hyper-pigmentation you MUST apply a Vitamin C serum daily in mornings underneath broad-spectrum sunscreen 
-Due to Plasma Lift's powerful ability to regenerate fresh new skin, the treated area can be sensitive and tender to touch for 2-3 weeks. 
-Do not use harsh soaps or exfoliants, opt for a gentle PH balanced Cleanser. 
-To avoid dryness/flaking, keep the skin well hydrated with the recommended Fragrance-free Moisturiser.

Skincare & Treatments (once dots fallen off)
-From Week 1-8: Diligently cover yourself from the sun and wear sunscreen. 
-From Week 3-4: Re-introduce skincare products containing 'actives' (depending on sensitivity). 
-For 8 weeks: No clinical treatments allowed on the area.

Our expert technician will schedule check-ins with you during the healing stages to see how your skin is responding/healing. Your feedback is always welcome as it may help us navigate any future treatments for you. Depending on your feedback we may ask for photos or for you to come into the studio to monitor the healing stages.
